Managers of the Bangkok-based high-end hotel Dusit D2 have announced that the Nairobi hotel will be re-opened in June.

According to a statement from its Thailand head office, the hotel which fell victim to an Al Shabaab attack in January will be relaunched with some new aspects that customers can look forward to.
"Our relaunch strategy will include introducing new dining concepts and planning a series of community events.
"The spirit of determination that runs through the entire 14 Riverside community is heartening to see and the support from everyone has been and continues to be incredible," the statement read in part.
Delightful customer experience
Dusit D2 Nairobi general manager Michael Metaxas assured customers of the facility that their experience would be enhanced.
"This positive energy is driving us as we prepare the hotel to delight guests and visitors once more with delightful service, impressive design and safe and comfortable surroundings for people to socialize, stay and conduct business," the manager stated.
Businesses that had their premises in the Dusit complex were allowed back on January 28, 2019 about two weeks after the attack.
The hotel lost four members of staff and two security guards during the tragic incident.
