Governor Ali Hassan Joho, through his communication director Richard Chacha has stated that he never interfered with ODM primaries in Nyali, Mombasa County.
This is after former KTN journalist Mohammed Ali, who was eying the Nyali parliamentary seat, claimed that Joho had influenced the polls in favor of his cousin Said Abdhalla alias Saido.
However, Speaking to , Joho’s communication director Chacha made it clear that the Governor even switched off his phone to ensure he was not accused of meddling with the polls.
“Joho switched off his mobile phone on the day of ODM primaries in Nyali… he never interfered with the nomination process,” Chacha told this journalist.
Mohammed popularly known as Jichopevu lost to Saido in the nominations and appealed the decision to ODM tribunal.

"This is not an election. It should be called off immediately. Joho and his brother should keep off ODM election matters,” Mr Ali said.
Previously, the journalist had complained that Abdalla had employed gangs to intimidate residents to ensure they voted in his favor.
“Saedo threatens other aspirants not limited to aspiring members of the diverse political sets, immediately he knows or gets a rumour that they do not support him.
