Speaking in Narok County on Thursday during the NASA rally, Joho joked that Ruo was now called the 'son of cholera' stating he could spread it to other properties he owned around the country.

'Huyo jamaa anaitwa arap Kipindupindu. Loosely translated, 'The guy is now called the son of Cholera. The disease which was being spread in one hotel in Nairobi is reason enough for us to be scared that it could be spread into other hotels in Nairobi and Mombasa where he has bought properties in ways we do not understand.'The Mombasa Governor stated that Ruto had no moral authority to talk about corruption adding that he should explain the source of his wealth. Joho made the sentiments in regard to Ruto's announcement where he alleged that NASA was being funded by international corrupt cartels.
