Joho Winning in New Poll

It is a landslide for Sultan

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is leading in the county’s gubernatorial race following a survey released on Monday by TIFA Research Limited.

According to the poll, Joho has 74 percent support ahead of Jubilee’s Suleiman Shahbal , who garnered 12 percent.

Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar would receive only 6 percent of the votes if the elections were to be held today.

In the Presidential race, NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga has a total of 67 percent support in Mombasa while his Jubilee counterpart President Uhuru Kenyatta has 27 percent.

The survey also showed that NASA had the backing of 70 percent of Mombasa residents while Jubilee had only 21 percent support.

In Meru, incumbent Governor Peter Munya would be re-elected for a second term in the elections were to be held today under Party of National Unity (PNU).

Mr Munya garnered 47 percent beating his main rival of the Jubilee Party Kiraitu Murungi (39 percent).

TIFA also carried the research in Machakos County where incumbent Governor Alfred Mutua is ahead of his main rival Wavinya Ndeti.

Mr Mutua has 59 percent support while Ms Ndeti has 35 percent.
