A section of Wiper leaders led by Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar, has opposed ODM leader Raila Odingas call for six-piece voting pattern in the August elections.

Speaking to a local daily, Omar lashed out at the NASA flagbearer and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for such utterances. The senator affirmed that they were in a coalition and it was a sign of weakness from members of the Orange party.

“The call for voting six-piece ODM candidates in Mombasa is not justified. It is wrong for leaders to herd people into party slogans to get sympathy.“It is a scheme to get voters’ sympathy, otherwise they will not win a single seat in Mombasa. It’s not business as usual. It’s not 2013,” Omar was quoted by the Nation.Over the weekend, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka publicly disagreed with Odinga over the same matter. He questioned why the former prime Minister would make such calls yet they had one common enemy 'Jubilee'."If you say that voters should elect only ODM candidates in a six-piece formula, then what do you leave us with? Are we not a coalition?” Mr Musyoka posed.
