During a whirlwind tour of Nairobi County that saw him criss-cross Dagoretti North and Westlands constituencies, Raila dismissed Sonko’s gubernatorial candidature urging the city voters to reject the Senator.

Raila said it would be a shame for him to come to visit the city and be received by Sonko as Nairobi Governor at the airport.

Raila called for the implementation of the six-piece voting in Nairobi where the Nasa supporters should select him as the President with Sonko’s Jubilee rival Evans Kidero as the governor right down to a Nasa Senator, MP and MCA.

“Hatutaki kushika serikali ya juu na hapa Nairobi tunakua na gavana wa Jubilee. Itakua aibu sana kama mimi Rais alafu Sono anakuja kunilaki mimi,” Raila told a cheering crowd in the city.

This loosely translates to “We do not want to form the national government then down here in Nairobi we get a Jubilee Governor. It will be a big shame if as the President, I come to Nairobi and Sonko receives me”.

Kidero and his running mate Jonathan Mueke on his part promised to end the political career of Sonko.

“Yule jamaa wabling bling, mwenye hata hajui kuongea kizungu, anaeza shindana na Kidero kweli? (The man with chains, who can’t even speak English, can he really compete with Kidero?)” Mueke asked.

The pair urged Nairobi voters not to entrust their future in Sonko.

They termed the senator “incompetent, clueless and reckless”.

“Nairobi is NASA and we will deliver 1.5 million votes to Raila, because he is the only leader who will bring down the price of unga,” they said.
