The flamboyant senator had no bling around his neck or fingers, accessories that are always associated with him.
Show host Jeff Koinange did not fail to notice the new look and promptly asked if it was his latest brand as he vies for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat.

“The complete transformation of Mike Mbuvi Sonko. Can you believe what you are seeing? I certainly can’t,” Koinange said in the opening of his show.
“No more funny hair, no more bling because I am the President to the great people who I serve and respect. So I should forget about my past and so many things and focus on my vision for the people.
“This is my look now as the next CEO of Nairobi County,” he added.
The aspiring Governor further noted that he had made tremendous steps as a politician in Kenya and the new look would work well for him if he is elected in the August 8 poll.
“Things are always learnt in all stages. I first matured as an MP to Senator the same way I am maturing from Senator to Governor,” Sonko stated.

The Senator, who is known to spew not so pleasing words during interviews, was calmer and composed on the show.
His command of the English language was something that many who were closely following the show did not fail to notice.
Social media was awash hailing praise on Sonko after the show which seemingly projected his good side.
