Sonko's latest move has surprised and shocked both friends and foes alike..

Senator Mike Sonko (left) and Peter Kenneth.

During an interview on Citizen’s JKLive with Jeff Koinange, Sonko said he was ready to work with Kenneth whom he trounced in the just concluded Jubilee nomination for the Nairobi Governor position.

He invited Kenneth to come and hold talks with him and suggested he was willing to make the former Gatanga MP his running mate going to the August polls and subsequently the Deputy Governor if Sonko wins.

"If Kenneth is willing to work with me, let him come and we can talk. I am willing to work with my opponents in Jubilee. I have no problem with him being the Deputy (Governor)," Sonko said.

Bygones be bygones

A very calm and composed Sonko said it was time to bury the hatchet and put aside differences he had in the past with other leaders including Kenneth.

Sonko's latest move has surprised and shocked both friends and foes alike leaving them bewildered as only a month ago, Sonko had angrily vowed never to work with Kenneth.

Kenneth and Sonko have been locked in a bitter battle that has threatened to tear apart the Jubilee Party in Nairobi, a situation that has even forced President Uhuru Kenyatta to offer himself as a mediator to end the feud between the two politicians.
