Days after making headlines with his Victor Wanyama Foundation, the Harambee Stars captain has once again melted the herts of Kenyans after splashing millions to purchase an ultra-modern bus for Nairobi East County League side Country Bus FC and Muthurwa Boxing Club.

The 40 seater bus was purchased in London through the Victor Wanyama Foundation to aid the cash-strapped club where the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder horned his skills.

The bus which underwent clearance at the port of Mombasa last Friday will arrive in Nairobi today (Saturday) for branding.

It is from Country Bus in Muthurwa where the Wanyama the football legend was propelled to fame, earning the name “Lion of Muthurwa”.

Nation quoted Wantama stating: “East or west home is always the best. I can never run away from the fact that I was born and bred in Muthurwa and that Country Bus FC nurtured my talent. I am happy to give back to the team in a small way and hope this will be the beginning of the team’s ascendancy to the top”.

“Muthurwa is also known for producing good boxers and this is courtesy of the boxing club. This bus will also serve them whenever they are traveling for games or whatever functions they have,” he added.

This is the latest achievement by Wanyama who recently acquired a 21 acre piece of land in Busia county where he intends to build an ultra-modern sports academy.

His foundation has also announced scholarship opportunities to 2019 candidates from needy backgrounds.
