Jubilee Point man in western Kenya Kenneth Makelo Lusaka has accepted defeat to Ford Kenya candidate Wycliffe Wangamati.
Lusaka who issued his concession speech at his home in Webuye said that he will respect the choice of Bungoma people.
"I thank the people of Bungoma for exercising their democratic right peacefully. I am thankful for the opportunity they gave me to serve as their first governor. I wish him success as he prepares to take over the mantle and steer our county as the second governor. I assure him of my support and guidance as he steers Bungoma to greater heights." Said Lusaka in Bungoma
Wangamati garnered a total of 197 197,422 votes (48.2 per cent) against 175,929 votes (42.96 per cent) of Lusaka of Jubilee.
Lusaka was Jubilee’s chief campaigner in western Kenya, a zone that is always believed to be afflicted to the opposition.
Ford Kenya party has dominated Bungoma county as Moses Wetangula a principal in the NASA coalitions is the senator elect while the Women representative has also been elected on a Ford Kenya ticket.
