Many of the buildings targeted in the ongoing operation were flagged off by the parliamentary committee on environment and natural resources.

The committee had in June listed several city buildings that have been put up on wetlands.

Areas listed in the report include Limuru Road, Spring Valley estate, Globe Cinema Round-About, Parklands, Fuata Nyayo estate in South B, and Village Market.

Some of the proprietors of the affected buildings have since sought court orders stopping Nema from tearing down their property.
