Fury has stem among Kenyans following David Kimaiyo’s appointment as Kenyatta National Hospital boss.
The former inspector general of police has been appointed as the Chairperson KNH Board.
Kimaiyo’s placement has come weeks after Lily Koros’s was suspended as KNH boss following a surgery mix up. Koros was sent home so as to allow an audit to take place to ascertain the root of the accident.
Kenyans have expressed disappointment and anger following Kimaiyo’s appointment. They have pointed out that Kimaiyo is incompetent and lacks knowledge in the medical field adding that he will ‘kill’ KNH.
Some comments made by tweeps were;
“President Uhuru, you fired Kimaiyo from KNH. What makes you think that he can now be a better performer as KNH boss? Kindly know that some of these things are HUGELY INSULTING
How many more siekes for govt to realise that Kimaiyo is too incompetent to chair a local cattle dip committee
What does this govt consider especially when appointing humans in sensitive dockets like the KNH board? Why not a doctor?
What does Kimayo know about running a hospital? A hospital that is in dire need of a major invasive surgery. His long career in public service was on security. Ama he will fix the security lapses at KNH .
Having headed the biggest corruption and bribery network in East & Central Africa (kenya police), former IG will kill KNH. Patients will now be treated according to how much bribe they pay. KNH will be transformed from a hospital into a tenders den.
Surely from security failure to medical services chair.... Tutajua hatujui
The idiot doesnt have any knowledge in medicine.he cant even prescribe and diagnose malaria. Bure kabisa”
KNH which is Kenya’s biggest medical facility has in the recent past been portrayed negatively after several instances of shortcomings from their side.
A brain surgery accident took place in the facility weeks ago where doctors operated on the wrong patient in a foul-up that made headlines for weeks.
The state owned facility was on the spot prior the surgery mix up following reports that breastfeeding mothers were being raped while at the hospital.
A section of Kenyans believe that Kimaiyo will not be able to straighten up such delicate issues as the KNH boss and are strongly against his appointment.
