DCI arrests Kenya Pipeline MD and 6 other senior officials

Details indicate that the detectives also raided his home

The officials were taken to the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road wherevthey were questioned over the Sh1.8 billion Kisumu Oil Jetty scam.

The officials are also under investigation for millions of litres of oil that have disappeared from the company under their tenure.

Oil marketers first raised concerns about KPC management in October where they accused the managers of frauduylent stock declarations. at the time they called for independent review of the reports from oil spillages.

KPC reported that 7.2 million litres of oil had been spiled and 4.4 million litres stolen seeking to have the burden of the loss inflicted on the taxpayer, the oi marketers refused to allow it.

Joe Sang Resigns

On Tuesday, the KPC board announced that Sang had handed in his resignation that would take effect in April 2019.

"The board acknowledged Mr Sang’s contribution during his tenure and welcomed his assurance of full cooperation during the transition," the statement read in part.

NHIF managers Arrested

Three other senior operatives from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) were also rounded up in the crackdown against suspected corrupt officials.

The officials included former NHIF CEO Simeon ole Kirgotty who are accused of Sh1.5 billion graft.
