Miguna Miguna Deported: What we know so far
A court ordered Miguna be produced in Court today.
This is what Pulselive.co.ke understands so far.
5.00 am: Miguna arrives at Dubai after he was allegedly sedated with unknown substance at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. People who saw him aboard the flight EK722 said he “was calm.”
5.01 am: Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria posts a video online claiming he was with Miguna in the same flight to Dubai. The coincidence of his appearance on the same flight causes worries among Kenyans.
“Aboard Flight EK 722 to Dubai; I can positively confirm we have all nationalities on this flight including a very bald headed Canadian. Rehla Sayeedah General,” Moses Kuria posted on Facebook.
5.40 am: Miguna’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta confirms to the Kenyan media that his client (Miguna) had been drugged and re-deported to Dubai.
6.00 am: Miguna issues a statement confirming the claims by his lawyer that he was indeed drugged. He says he is in Dubai with one of the Kenya’s Immigration officials whom he identified as Mr Njihia. He said he slept off only to wake up in Dubai with massive body pains.
“I was dragged, assaulted, drugged and forcefully flown to Dubai. I woke up in Dubai and the despots are here insisting that I must travel on to London. I’m sick. I need medical treatment. A Mr. Njihia is threatening me.
I need urgent help here. I want to take a flight only to Nairobi. Nowhere else! I’m sick. My ribs and body is hurting all over. This is a travesty of justice!” Miguna said in a short message through his Facebook account.
7.00 am: Miguna announces that he would not leave the Dubai International Airport. He is pictured with Moses Kuria who posted on Facebook the following message.
“This morning at Dubai International Airport I bid farewell to the leader of the breakaway Eastern Suburbs of Toronto, NRM General Miguna Miguna who completed a successful four day State visit to Kenya. We committed to continue working together to strengthen the relationship between the people of the two friendly nations,” Moses Kuria wrote online in a photo he is seen with Dr Miguna.
8.00 am: Miguna’s lawyer Nelson Havi claims that all flight to and from Nairobi had been cancelled. He however refused to talk to the Pulselive.co.ke when contacted for a comment on his source of the information.
8.30 am: Fly Emirates in Nairobi confirms that all its 15 flights destined for UAE had been dispatched. The next flight would be at 1600Hrs Kenyan time. The source who spoke to Pulselive.co.ke and who sought anonymity as he is not authorised to speak to the media said “we have not had any official communication from the respective embassies about the directive. Usually we get such information 2-4 hrs before takeoff.”
9.00 am: Reports emerge that Miguna is hospitalised at Sheikh Rashid Hospital in Dubai at the airport, after he complained of massive body pains.
