Things get chaotic, violent with many casualties

Drama unfolded in Bungoma today with veteran Jubilee Member of Parliament Fred Kapondi who represents Mount Elgon constituency throwing all caution to the wind and getting into a physical fight, raining blows on a supporter of his opponent.

A video capturing the whole incident shows the MP charging towards a supporter of his rival and raining bows on the unidentified man.

In the that saw a section of the warring partys resort to using chairs as weapons, locals can be heard pleading with the legislator to stop engaging the man in a fight with chants of “mheshimiwa wacha (stop honorable)”.

Prior to the incident, people close to the legislator can be heard pleading with him not to join the fight before the MP surges forward in defiance to beat up the man.

The chaos brough what would have been a final send off for the late businessman Peter Chepkech Zablon at Nasala village to a premature end with relatives rushing to bury the body.
