A nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) on Tuesday lost her sit at the Nairobi House.

One Habiba Ibrahim Hussein lost her seat at the assembly after she was found to have missed two years worth of committee sittings.

The MCA was nominated to the assembly by the Jubilee party.

Speaker Beatrice Elachi declared her sit vacant during the Tuesday afternoon session.

Anne Thumbi

Late last year, another female MCA from Nairobi County made headlines after she was named as "baby mama" to the late MP Ken Okoth.

Governor Mike Sonko went on to elaborate on the events that led to Ms Anne Thumbi joining the assembly under a Jubilee party nomination.

"In 2013, Ken invited me [Sonko Rescue Team] to conduct a medical camp in Kibra and there were beautiful nurses around, so Ken fell in love with one of the nurses named Anita and I am a witness that they were dating. I respect Monica and I know it is a difficult time for her but let me confirm that Ken has a son and his name is Okoth just like him.

"After the 2017 elections, Ken came to me and pleaded with me to nominate his 'second wife' to the county assembly and out of my friendship with Ken I nominated Anne Thumbi. I just ask that Ken's son is recognized," Governor Sonko stated at the time.
