Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa is among three CSs who will be summoned for questioning at the DCI headquarters this week, DCI boss George Kinoti has confirmed.

Mr Kinoti also conveyed that Water CS Simon Chelugui, Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri and a number of current and former principal secretaries will also be required to give statements in connection with investigations on the Sh21 billion Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.

He ascertained that the summonses will be served to the respective individuals between Monday and Tuesday.


"This is a complex investigation and we want to hear from all those who were involved to understand why there was a rush to award the contract.

"We want to understand why the officials were in a hurry to award these tenders and lift the lid on this theft," the DCI boss noted.

CMC di Ravenna declared a "junk company"

An Italian company, CMC di Ravenna, is in the middle of the multi-billion scandal which has been tagged as a political witch -hunt by some politicians.

The company was ranked in category D "junk company" by American rating agency, Standard and Poor.


Nepal kicked the company out of business on assertions that the company was of poor execution of project timelines.

Treasury CS Henry Rotich last week spent three consecutive days at the DCI headquarters being grilled over the same scandal.

Deputy President William Ruto has weighed in on the scandal claiming that the figures conveyed to media are exaggerated and insisting that only Sh7 billion is unaccounted for.

Siaya Senator James Orengo over the weekend asked the DP to record a statement with the DCI to back his claims.
