Rotich returns to the DCI for the third day

Rotich back for more

Treasury CS Henry Rotich

Treasury CS Henry Rotich was back at the DCI offices on Thursday in regards to the controversial payments of the impeded Arror and Kimwarer Dams saga in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Police investigating the matter, stated that Rotich had gone to give clarifications on some issues.

Reports had indicated that the Treasury CS had answered 301 questions during his grilling session that had begun on Tuesday.

The embattled Rotich had been required to shed light on how in December 2018, an Italian firm, CMC di Ravenna was paid Ksh4.3 billion for the Arror dam, and Sh3.5 billion for the Kimwarer dam on November 6 the same year.

The two projects are 15 per cent of the contract sum of Ksh28.5 billion for Arror, and Ksh23.1 billion for Kimwarer.

Rotich asked to resign by Atandi

Alego Usonga Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi had earlier asked Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich to resign.

The lawmaker had argued that the scandals were enough to warrant resignation and in case of his refusal, President Uhuru Kenyatta should fire him.

Atandi further revealed details of an alleged wrongdoing of the embattled Rotich in regards to a company named HEKIRO.
