Cabinet reshuffle in Nairobi, 3 officials sent home

Top officials sent home over corruption

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has made major changes in the top brass of his administration.

Sonko reshuffled his Cabinet with Allan Igambi being appointed Finance CEC to replace Newton Munene who had been approved for the position.

Munene will now move to trade.

The changes have also seen several senior officials being sent home over allegations of being involved in corruption.

Sonko suspended his Chief of Staff Brian Mugo, acting Finance Chief Officer Ekaya Alumasi, as well as the acting Head of County Treasury Stephen Mutua.

This is the second time that Alumasi is being suspended having faced a similar disciplinary action in March this year on grounds of "working with former Governor Evans Kidero".
