Raila’s daughter Rosemary speaks in public for the first time
She has kept a private profile since being taken ill in February 2017
Rosemary spoke during a live radio call, from Hot 96 radio hosts Jeff Koinange and Jalang’o, and directed at her father.
During the interview, she interjected to wish Koinange a happy birthday which he also shares with the NASA leader.
Raila’s interview later continued and focused on his birthday celebration and his 2018 message to Kenyans.
The former Prime Minister stated that he was excited after turning 73, adding that it reminded him of the day he received Jomo Kenyatta from detention in 1961.
“Kenyatta was exactly my age today, and there was a lot of hope for the country at that time. I see that hope written on the face of many Kenyans,” Raila remarked.
The NASA leader reminded President Uhuru Kenyatta on the need to agree to a dialogue process that would enable Kenya to break away from the past.
“He has a historic opportunity to break away from the past and create a new Kenya. We are willing to work together in this regard. It is a great opportunity that will help him create a legacy,” he concluded.
