Divisions continue to rock Jubilee party with veteran legislator Maina Kamanda revealing that the party’s future is bleak, stating that the Mt Kenya region may form a political coalition with another community if Rift Valley group pulls out of ruling coalition.

In a candid interview with Nation, Maina confirmed his fears stating: “I don’t expect we shall be intact. You may find some want to go their separate ways then we will also be joining other people. That is how politics are. There is no permanent enmity in politics.”

Speaking separately, MPs Rahim Dawood (Imenti North), Muturi Kigano (Kangema) and Maina Kamanda (nominated) delved into the rift within Jubilee, cornering rival group that is seemingly led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi with tough questions.

Kamanda wondered why the camp led by Murkomen and Sudi are unsettled by the ongoing investigations.

“There is widespread fear that the beneficiaries of the corrupt deals will be known. Those who are clean are not bothered by the investigations and are calmly waiting for the outcome,” Kamanda said.

“Why are they shouting before the truth in the scandals is out? If you have not stolen, why shout when investigations are ongoing,” he added.

His concerns were echoed by Dawood who wonderd “what they (camp led by Murkomen and Sudi) are fearing in the DCI’s move to investigate the Sh21 billion Kimwarer and Arror dams as well as other corruption scandals”.

Mr Kigano, alleged a plot by the lawmakers opposed to the anti-corruption purge to blackmail the President and dismissed claims that DP Ruto is being sidelined in the government.

DCI huyo mtu ni bure sana.He should be sacked by tomorrow- Murkomen

Hinting at an imminent fallout in Jubilee, the MPs faulted DP Ruto’s allies for politicising the fight against corruption and persistent criticisms on President Uhuru Kenyatta and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti.

Yesterday, Murkomen called for the immediate sacking of DCI Kinoti, insisting that he is very useless and alleging that he has been cooking up cases targeting specific individuals.

Murkomen alleged that DCI Kinoti is biased and often targets people by pinning crime on them and then digging for evidence.

Naskia anakaanga chini anasema huyu Murkomen anaongea mingi sana. Hakuna makossa amefanya mahali? Hebu tafuta watu muangalie account yake mkipata makossa mniletee.” Murkomen said.

Murkomen who was breathing fire dismissed DCI Kinoti as useless calling for his immediate sacking.

“DCI huyo mtu ni bure sana.(The DCI is a very useless person). He should be sacked by tomorrow.” Murkomen said.
