A team of Kieleweke MPs led by nominated MP Maina Kamanda was yet again in the eye of the storm after irate youth held protests to block him from accessing AIPCA church in Nanyuki.
The youth accused the lawmaker of picking fights with young politicians who are the age-mates of his grand-children.
"Maina stop fighting your grandchildren." Read one placard carried by the protesters who chanted pro-Tangatanga slogans.
The protesters made it clear that they favoured the tangatanga faction of Jubilee allied to DP Ruto and any attempts to in them over to the Kieleweke faction will not yield any success.
Reports indicate that youth succeeded in chasing away the Kamanda along with other leaders allied to the Kieleweke camp.
Worth noting however is that the protests were not sporadic and appeared to have been planned with several donning red shirts and holding placards.
Last Sunday, drama ensued at Gatui Catholic Church in Muranga after the bitter rivalry bewteen Jubilee’s team Tangatanga and team Kieleweke resulted in a fight between Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro and Maina Kamanda.
Kamanda was among a team of Kieleweke MPs who were attending a fundraiser at the church when Nyoro stormed the event.
The Kiharu legislator disrupted the event leading to a scuffle as he insisted that being the area MP he is the only one with the right to ivite leaders to events in his constituency.
“I am the MP and I am the only one who can invite people to functions in this constituency. I respect Maina Kamanda as a father and an elder, but I cannot allow him to come all the way from Nairobi to rule Kiharu Constituency,” Nyoro said.
