Doubts of Kalonzo’s future in NASA after formation of 2022 campaign team

Wiper team has distanced itself from Raila's swearing in ceremony

It has now emerged that Musyoka’s allies, led by his party’s Chairman Kivutha Kibwana have already formed a team that is working on a formula of getting the former Vice President to State House in 2022.

No playing second fiddle

“Our eyes as a community are now firmly fixed on 2022. We know that Raila will not be on the (presidential) ballot and it will be our turn. We expect the other NASA luminaries to support Kalonzo for the presidency. There should be no other way,” Kibwana stated.

Elected leaders on the Wiper Party have insisted that Musyoka can no longer afford to be a running mate to anyone.

Working with government

The situation is further compounded by the Ukambani elected leaders who have called on the NASA co-principal to abandon Opposition Leader Raila Odinga’s plan and instead focus on working with the Jubilee government.

“Kalonzo has twice supported Raila for the presidential contest and we have got into trouble. It is only wise for him to be number one (presidential candidate) in 2022 because if we make another mistake, he will grow old and lose taste among Kenyans. We cannot afford that,” Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi stated.

The Wiper team has also distanced itself from the controversial plan to swear in Odinga as President of Kenya.
