Senior doctor turns down KNH CEO position

The position fell vacant after the exit of Lilly Koros.

Dr John Ong’ech, who was appointed by Health CS Sicily Kariuki in an acting capacity after the exit of Koros, declined the offer citing cartels in the organization who want to control the budget.

Dr Onge'ch added that politics were at play at KNH which he didn't want to get involved in.

“This is a job of managing a budget of almost Sh15 billion per year and 4,000 staff. It also has unlimited access to power and influence.
