Khalwale slams Mudavadi, reveals details of 12-hour meeting with DP Ruto
Khalwale reveals his reasons for dumping Mudavadi, Wetangula for DP Ruto
The former senator divulged that their 12 hour meeting in Nairobi revolved around Kenya’s politics and dismissed claims that his decision to support the DP is for selfish financial benefit.
"Please Church leaders I urge you to pray for leaders from my Luhya community who think I am in a commercial venture by doing what I am doing", Khalwale said.
Khalwale who was speaking at a fund raiser in Eldoret on Sunday divulged that he had annalysed Kenyan politics and realized that it is impossible to defeat DP William Ruto who has always been on the winning side of Kenyan politics.
“DP Ruto knows me and I know him well because we have been friends and we have also fought…That is why I have decided not to waste my time elsewhere," Said the former lawmaker.
Khalwale who lost to Wyclife Oparanya in the Kakamega gubernatorial race took a swipe at Musalia Mudavadi terming his political ambitions a dream.
"When Mudavadi goes to get a running mate like Jeremiah Kioni and think he will make it then it's a dream… "I have long experience in Kenya's politics and I know it's not possible to defeat a government candidate in an election," Khalwale said.
In the clearest indication of his intentions and where his political future lies, Khalwale fell short of declaring that he has ditched Ford Kenya Party
His comments come in the wake of reports that the much hyped Luhya unity championed by Wetangula and Mudavadi had hit a dead end with neither of the champions ready to fold up their parties.
