Baringo Senator Gideon Moi on Monday became the first member of the Moi family to send a condolence message to the family of the champion of multiparty politics Kenneth Matiba.
On Monday afternoon,Gideon visited Mtiba's widow, Edith at her Riara Ridge home where he delivered his personal condolence message as well as on behalf of Kanu and his father - President Daniel arap Moi.
The Mois had remained quiet since the former Cabinet Minister passed last week on Sunday.
Former Nyeri Town MP Wanyiri Kihoro, a family friend to the Matibas, had requested the former President to avoid issuing a condolence message for 'decency's sake'.
Kihoro was referring to the fact that Matiba's ill health and ultimate death started when he was detained and tortured under the regime of former President Moi.
