Details of NASA event to be held on Saturday in London

The event will start at 2pm and will run all the way till the early hours of Sunday morning.

NASA supporters in the UK will on Saturday hold an end of year family fundraising dinner in London to help raise funds to support victims of violence in Kenya.

According to The Standard, the event will be held at a 4-star West London Business Hotel known as the Hyatt Place,in Hayes from 2pm and will run all the way till the early hours of Sunday morning.

The entry fee to the event is Sh3,300 per person.

The NASA-UK Organising Secretary, Erick Ogello, said the event targets Sh1 million which will go towards the victims of violence kitty who are unable to pay for their hospital bills and funeral expenses of those killed.

“It’s a desperate situation we are dealing with which we have to come together and help as we hear dead bodies are lying in the mortuary with no one to help with burial expenses and the injured cannot access medical care because they cannot afford the high hospital bills,” Ogello said.

NASA leader Raila Odinga has blamed the police for killing unarmed and innocent civilians especially on the day that they turned out to welcome him from the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on his return from the United States last month.

In October NASA supporters in London help protests against what they termed as electoral injustices in Kenya.

The Kenya High Commission in London was forced to close early as NASA supporters protested outside the building.
