Raila hires Oxford University graduate to craft resistance formula

Odinga announced that his coalition would resist President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.

Renowned economist and public intellectual, Dr David Ndii will lead a technical team that will come up with the most effective resistance strategies.

On Thursday, Ndii’s team joined Odinga as he briefed NASA-affiliated governors on the progress made in developing the resistance strategy.

The team is also working in a list of businesses that will be the subject of their planned economic boycott.

The Standard on Friday quoted sources privy to the operations of the technical team who indicated that they had prepared a memorandum to be used by the People’s Assembly and the National Resistance Movement.

Odinga had earlier announced that NASA would operate in two wings with the NRM working pressuring the government through boycotts and mass demonstrations.

The People’s Assembly will be a broad based organization bringing together elected leaders, civil societies, professional groups, and religious leaders, and will seek to implement constitutional changes meant to enhance free and fair election, among other objectives.

The memorandum is reported to be in its final stages and will soon be tabled in county assemblies where it will be made law.

Ndi, who holds a PhD in Economics from the prestigious Oxford University, is a key member of Odinga strategic team and is credited with coming up with the NASA manifesto.
