Samuel Wainaina Mbugua died while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

Mbugua served as the Mayor of Nairobi between 1998 and 1999.

He was credited with negotiating the setting up of estates such as Kimathi, Uhuru, Kariobangi South, Harambee and Umoja through affordable long-tem loans with the World Bank.

Shebesh lost to ODM’s Esther Passaris during the August 8 elections.

She garnered 69,9702 votes against Passaris’ 86,4874 votes.

The Nairobi Woman Rep seat attracted six other candidates including Rahab Ndambuki, Nadya Khan, Teresia Omolo, Winnie Wainaina, Rosemary Macharia and Khadija Theuri who collectively managed about three per cent of the votes.
