Citizen TV was on Tuesday forced to pull down a story that had linked President Uhuru Kenyattas younger brother, Muhoho Kenyatta, to the contraband sugar scandal.
The story was published on Citizen TV's website shortly after Aldai MP Cornelley Serem claimed that Protech Investment - a company owned by Muhoho was among those that imported the controversial sugar said to be of poor quality.
No explanation was provided for deletion of the controversial story.
Serem spoke after Interior CS Fred Matiang'i failed to honour summons issued by a parliamentary committee probing the issue of contraband sugar in the Kenyan market.
The MP, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, claimed that Matiang'i was afraid of facing the committee to avoid implicating some of the "most powerful people in Kenya".
