President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Wednesday make a meet-and-greet stopover at Ongata Rongai enroute to Mai Mahiu where he will be launching the second phase of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project.
A brief sent to newsrooms by State House outlined that the President will make a series of stops thereafter before finally officiating over a ground breaking ceremony in Naivasha.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta will...preside over the official launch of Phase 2A of the Standard Gauge Railway, Commission the Construction of the JKIA to Westlands Expressway and preside over the groundbreaking ceremony of the Naivasha Inland Container Depot.
"The President will make stopovers to commission and address wananchi at SGR Stations along the new railway line in Ongata Rongai, Ngong, Kimuka (Commission Kimuka Water Project), Mai Mahiu and Suswa. The main function will be at the Mai Mahiu SGR Station," the brief read in part.
