Special AU envoy Raila Odinga has proposed Ms Jane Wangui Muringi as his second candidate for the Nairobi deputy governor position.

In a second letter written to Governor Mike Sonko on Monday, Mr Odinga outlined that she is affiliated to the National Super Alliance (Nasa).

Nasa CEO Norman Magaya conveyed the news to reporters as he dismissed leaders from ODM who had denied involvement in drafting the first letter that was delivered on Friday.

"This morning (Monday) Mr Odinga instructed me to do another letter to Mr Sonko, which I did.

"I know the mindset of our principals and as far as I am concerned Nasa is alive and is there to stay for as long as it takes," Magaya stated.

ODM Denies nominating Rahab Wangui Ndambuki

ODM Secretary-general Edwin Sifuna on Sunday dismissed the letter sent by Magaya saying that Nasa died in January 30, 2018 when Raila was sworn in as the people's president.

"We did not send any name for deputy governorship position because we do not want to be associated with the mess that happened in Nairobi. There is no Nasa, it died long ago," Sifuna stated.

The letter had proposed Ms Rahab Wangui Ndambuki to be considered and Governor Sonko obliged saying that it was in the spirit of the handshake.
