Nasa leaders chased away from Nkaissery’s home

The Opposition leaders had gone to offer their condolences.

Nasa leaders led by Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye, Kajiado Central Member of Parliament Memusi Kanchori, Wiper candidate for county woman MP seat Simayiai Rakita and former Kenya Meat Commission chairman Taraiya ole Kores were among members of the Opposition who were ejected from the late CS’s compound.

Various leaders as well as close family members and friends of the late Nkaissery had gathered to convey their condolences at Ilbisil before later proceeding to the family compound for a meal.

This is when the Nasa leaders were barred from accessing the home under strict orders from Nkaissery’s family.

According to The Standard, a member of the funeral committee divulged that they were strictly instructed not to allow any member of the Opposition into the compound.

Those who were later allowed to address the mourners included various religious leaders, County Commissioner Harsama Kello, Kajiado South MP Katoo ole Metito, National Transport Safety Authority Director-General Francis Meja, Agriculture Principal Secretary Richard Lesiyampe and Narok Woman Representative Soipan Tuya.

Nkaissery, before his untimely death had a frosty relationship with Governor Nkedianye and MP Memusi.

The bad blood came into the fore earlier this month when the ODM offices in Kajiado were vandalised by unknown people.

Nkedianye and Memusi shortly after convened a press conference and said that the late Nkaissery had threatened them.

They even recorded a statement with the police over the matter.

Nkaissery later said he would instruct his lawyers to file a suit against the two for defamation.
