14-seater matatu mangled after crash with lorry (Capital FM)

At least six people are feared dead after a nasty accident at Masimba Area along Nairobi-Mombasa area.

A lorry collided with a 14-seater matatu head-on and three people were reported dead at the scene.

The death toll rose to six as police and first responders arrived at the scene.

Makueni County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim confirmed the incident adding that other victims of the crash had been taken to the Makindu Hospital.

Tragic Kikopey crash

A similar accident took place at the Kikopey stopover along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway last Friday.

12 people were reported dead in the gruesome accident that involved a trailer and a 11-seater shuttle.

The Kikopey crash was blamed on the trailer which is said to have lost control as it descended a hill.
