The Police prosecutor said that the accused came back to Lagos and used the opportunity to steal the said money, property of Efulue.
Abiodun, 30, whose residential address is unknown, is facing a count charge of stealing, preferred against him by the police.
The police prosecutor, Insp. Abass Abayomi, told the court that the accused committed that alleged offence on March 15, at 9:00 a.m. at No.4b, Omololu St., off Sinari Daranijo Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Abayomi said that the accused drove his employer, the complainant, Mr Kenneth Efulue, to his farm outside Lagos and abandoned him there.
He said that the accused came back to Lagos and used the opportunity to steal the said money, property of Efulue.
“Efulue had intended to use the money to treat his eye problems before the accused stole it,’’ the prosecutor said.
He said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr B. O. Sonuga, in his ruling, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He said that the sureties must be gainfully employed, must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government and have their addresses verified.
Sonuga adjourned the case until May 9, for mention.
