English Premier League side Everton have reportedly secured the services of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, few days ahead of their exhibition match against Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia.
The Sun has reported that the Toffees will seal a deal with the Manchester United skipper by the end of the week for free but continue paying him his current £250,000-a-week wages.
If the deal goes through, the England captain will return to Goodison Park after spending 13 years with the Red Devils where he scored 253 goals.
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is also on his way to Everton. “We’re signing Giroud for £20m. It’s a bargain compared to the £22m Napoli asked us for Duvan Zapata,” Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi told an Italian radio as quoted by The Sun.
On July 13, the Ronald Koeman-managed side will play against Gor Mahia in the SportPesa Super Cup’s exhibition match slated for Tanzania’s National Stadium atfter K’Ogalo beat AFC Leopards to the title in June.
