Football Kenya Federation FKF issues a stun warning to its members after the Nyamweya suspension

Last week FKF banned Nyamweya from any football related activities due to what it termed as misusing his power while at the helm of the federation

Football Kenya federation has warned it members against engaging in any football related business with the suspended former FKF president Sam Nyamweya.

Last week the FKF banned Nyamweya from any football related activities due to what it termed as misusing his power while at the helm of the federation.

The federation as now issued a memo that carries a stun warning to its members of not entering into any sporting contact with the former president during his suspension time.

“This is to inform you that based on the decision made by the FKF National Executive Committee meeting held on March 21’st 2017, Sam Nyamweya has been suspended as per Article 14(1) and Article 34(m) of the FKF Constitution for a period of 10 years” stated the memo

The Memo also reveals that Nyameya loses his membership rights in the Federation with immediate effect for the next ten years.

“We remind you and your affiliates not to enter into any sporting contact with the aforementioned during the suspension”, read the memo. 

Nyamweya grabbed the headlines in February this year after being accused of conspiring with a bank to misappropriate Sh 2.5 million meant for sports development at FKF Aberdares Branch

He later sued his successor Nicky Mwendwa, the Kenya Premier League Company Limited and the Sports Dispute Tribunal over the deadlock the resulted into the delay in the commencing of the 2017 Kenya Premier League season.

After the ban was issued to Nyamweya he also threatened to sue FKF again in what he said

Saying he is no longer a member of the Federation and therefore they don’t have the powers to suspend him.

However its is a matter of time before Nyamweya responds to this latest development by the Football Kenya Fedaration.
