Isaac Ruto Denies Defecting to Jubilee Party; Speaks on Joining Uhuru's Cabinet

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has finally opened up on...

The political grapevine has been awash with reports of Ruto being rewarded with a ministerial position in the Devolution or Agriculture docket after he endorsed President Kenyatta’s re-election ahead of the October 26 repeat election.

However, the former governor has denied being privy to such talks but did not rule out joining the government if requested.

“I have not discussed that with anyone,” Ruto remarked during an interview with a local newspaper.

The former NASA co-principal used the interview to clarify that he had not defected to the Jubilee party adding that he was only supporting President Kenyatta’s re-election while still holding retaining his position as leader of Chama Cha Mashinani.

“Re-election of Uhuru is a matter that we will be done in three weeks and after that we look at the agenda on the table. Everyone will be free to contribute in the way he or she looks. Obviously you can be sure I have not sold my soul and you will hear more of me moving forward,” Ruto stated.
