Recipe Ingredients

  • ½ Cabbage (sliced thin)
  • 1 onion (cut into long strips)
  • 1 Tomato (cut into small dices/strips)
  • 2 small carrots (grated)
  • 1 Green pepper (cut into small dices/strips)
  • 2 Royco beef cubes
  • Butter or Margarine
  • Salt to taste

Recipe Instructions

  1. Put a little butter or margarine in a pan, add the minced garlic and cook for 3 minutes.
  2. Mix all the cut vegetables except the onion in a large bowl and ensure they are mixed evenly.
  3. In a suitable sufuria, cook the onion with minimal oil until soft but not brown. Leave it for 1 minute under medium heat.
  4. Add the cabbage mixture and stir into the onion and allow it to cook while covered for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir repeatedly and by this time the cabbage will have started streaming in its own water.
  6. Crumble the royco beef cube into the cabbage mixture and stir
  7. Simmer for 3 minutes or until the cabbage turns bright green. Ensure that it does not dry out and start burning.
  8. Serve while hot.
