5 things you should know before dating an introvert

How to date an introvert.

When you are dating an introvert, you need to take into account a few things. They just prefer not being the life of the party. Or they could just be painfully reserved.

Social interaction is more of a chore to them. The way staying quiet would be to you. It's easy to know what to expect when dating a normally outgoing person or a regular person but when dating an introvert, extra care needs to be taken.

So here are 5 things you need to consider when dating an introvert.

They don’t like crowds.

Recommended For You

There are countless ways to enjoy something without the added “benefit” of a crowd. If you’re attending an event where crowds are unavoidable, ensure that there are ways of avoiding the places where the people are many or if it’s a multi-day event, go on the day where there’ll be the fewest people.

They hate conflict

One of the worst things you can do to an introvert is put them in a situation where they have to explain themselves. If something is bothering them and you’re intuitive enough to tell, give them time or find creative ways to get through to them.

Introduce them to your people one at a time

Owing to the fact that they hate crowds, when introducing them to family members or large group of friends, try to do it one person at a time. Probably start with the calmest member of the lot.

They don’t mind repetition

If they enjoyed something the first time around, you don’t need to up the ante. It’s ok to do what you did last time.

They love alone time

Probably their favourite time ever, introverts love it when it’s just the two of you in your own cocoon of fun. Tailor made ideas for yourselves where you both get to enjoy what you love most. You can also leave them out of your plans with your crew and when you head home to decompress, just go lie with them and just chill.
