The International Community on Monday abandoned NASA leader Raila Odinga, with only 9 days to the repeat election.

The European Union observer union issued a stern warning to Odinga over his calls for “no election”, stating that the statement was likely to incite NASA supporters to obstruct the poll process through violent means.

“Worryingly, there is also concern that “no election” means NASA supporters could obstruct polling and tallying,” the mission stated.

The EU also commended the IEBC for making progress in implementing most of the reform measures that were suggested by various stakeholders.

“If implemented as planned, they will provide a foundation for an improved technical process, with stronger transparency and integrity measures,” the EU observed.

The statement came shortly after Odinga landed from Britain where he indicated he had held talks with various diplomats to counter what he termed as Jubilee propaganda.

The EU’s position appears to be a setback for the NASA coalition which has been lobbying western diplomats and government officials to support its election boycott.

The NASA leadership had also used some of the recommendations issued by the International Community to show the seriousness of their “irreducible minimums”.

The EU called on the Jubilee and NASA teams to agree to dialogue to ensure the repeat election is conducted in a peaceful and fair manner.
