A Kenyan and two Ugandans have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of IEBC Manger Chris Msando.
The three were believed to be headed to South Sudan before police intercepted them in Northern Uganda.
They were nabbed in a Toyota Fortuner, which had Ugandan plates but police said that when the vehicle crossed the border it had Kenyan number plates, which have been linked to a politician in the country.
Confirming the arrest, Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson Mr Jimmy Patrick Okema, stated that the vehicle could have been used by the killers.
“It’s believed that the vehicle could be for killers, but I still don’t have all the details, may be Interpol will give all the details. However this is the little information I have, the arrest is related to Msando’s death,” Mr Okema was quoted by Daily Monitor.
Meanwhile, police had recorded statements from six people in connection with the murder.
The deceased was found murdered alongside a 21-year old woman, Carol Ngumbu and their bodies dumped at Muguga Forest in Kikuyu.
According to a postmortem done by chief government Pathologist Johansen Oduor the late Chris Msando died from a strangulation.
“He died from strangulation and he also had incisions on his right arm, but the rest of the body was intact” Oduor confirmed.
