Uhuru issues urgent order to Matiang’i over KCPE/KCSE results

Uhuru spoke after the public complained over mass failure in the 2017 KCSE exam

President Uhuru Kenyatta has now issued an urgent order to Education CS Fred Matiang’i over the KCPE and KCSE exams.

Kenyatta spoke on Friday where he directed Matiang’i to come with suitable feedback mechanisms for all national examinations.

The President stated that chief examiners should have a system where their reports are shared with teachers and other industry players for purposes of identifying weak areas and improving learning.

“Ensure that the chief examiner reports are shared with teachers and other stakeholders so that they act on the areas identified for improvement in the learning processes," President Kenyatta stated.

When Dennis Okari and Betty Kyallo walked down the aisle in a grand wedding, many thought it was a love story destined for happily ever after. However, Okari has revealed that he later realised Betty was never meant to be his wife. He admitted that he wished he had never gone through with the wedding, as it was an attempt to 'correct a wrong' rather than a decision rooted in God’s plan.

He also directed the Ministry of Education to review its quality assurance systems and put in place suitable measures that will ensure the continuous promotion of learning outcomes in our schools.

The head of state spoke after a national outcry followed the release of the 2017 KCSE results where only ten percent of the students attained the requisite grade to be admitted to university.

He spoke when he flagged-off national delivery of core course books for Primary and Secondary schools at the Centre for Mathematics Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMESTEA).
