He once served as Director of Administration, Secretary Foreign Service Administration (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Deputy secretary, principal Immigration Officer and Director of Immigration Services(Office of the President).
Political career
Ndathi featured prominently in a 2007 Parliamentary Report investigating the infamous Artur brothers after he was questioned on how the two had gained entry into the country.
Kirinyaga Governor Joseph Ndathi was on the spot over irregular use of money running into millions of shillings spent by the county.
He appeared before the Senate Public Accounts and Investments Committee and was taken to ask over how his county had spent KShs. 234.9 millions for the period between July, 2013 and June 30, 2014.
He is battling to retain his seat as an independent candidate after being floored by Anne Waiguru, former Devolution Cabinet Secretary. Martha Karua (Narc – Ke) and Karani Macharia of Maendeleo Chapa Chap will be in the race as well.
