It’s funny how everyone wants to lose weight at the beginning of every year. And heavens know what happens a few months down the line.
But before you even get on the real task of losing weight, there are a few things you should know. They will probably help you stay focused on your goal:
1. What worked for one person may not work for you

Bodies are different and just because a certain routine worked for your friend does not mean it will work for you. Don’t just start doing something because others are doing it. Instead, learn what works for you.
2. Rapid weight loss is not the best
There are products that can help you lose weight in a few weeks. But that is not a healthy way to go. You need something sustainable. A routine that you can manage and maintain a healthy weight.
3. Plateaus are normal

There is a time you will be eating right and hitting the gym but you will see no progress. All this is normal and you should not quit yet.
4. It’s not an overnight thing
Healthy weight loss does not happen in one night. It may take months or even years. Don’t expect to see results too soon as it may discourage you.
5. The gym is not enough
