True Love magazine founder, ex-KTN journalists appointed to gov't delivery unit

In a move to bolster communication efficiency within the Government Delivery Unit (GDU), Deputy Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management, Eliud Owalo, announced a series of strategic appointments on Sunday, 5th January 2025.

These appointments aim to improve the government's engagement with stakeholders and the public, ensuring transparent communication about governmental initiatives and their progress.

Leadership and strategic communication

Leading the list of the newly appointed team is Dr. Carole Mandi, a renowned Strategic Communications Advisor. Dr. Mandi is the founder and publisher of True Love, Drum, and Home & Living magazines under Carole Mandi Media Limited.

Branding and stakeholder engagement

Archie Achieng' Ojany, a branding specialist and former minister in Kisumu County, has been appointed to oversee Branding, Marketing, and Stakeholder Engagement.

Ojany's background in regional governance and branding is anticipated to strengthen the government's public image and foster robust relationships with various stakeholders.

Media relations and communication strengthening

Boniface Odinga, a former journalist with Kenya Television Network (KTN), will be responsible for Strengthening Communication and Media Relations.

Odinga's journalistic expertise is expected to facilitate more effective interactions between the government and media outlets, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information.

Joining the team is Patrick Amimo, a former editor at KTN. Amimo's editorial experience will be instrumental in overseeing content development and ensuring the clarity and coherence of government communications.

Wambui Ng'ayu, an advertising and branding specialist, has been appointed to enhance the government's advertising strategies.

Ng'ayu's expertise is expected to contribute to more effective public awareness campaigns and promotional activities.

Alloyce Obare, a specialist in branding and delivery, will manage Product Development, Delivery Strategies, and Digital Communications.

Obare's role will be crucial in advancing the government's digital presence and ensuring the effective delivery of information through various digital platforms.

The Government Delivery Unit, operating under the Office of the Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management, is tasked with monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the timely fulfillment of key development priorities, programmes, and projects.

The recent appointments are part of a broader strategy to enhance the unit's effectiveness in delivering government services and engaging with the public.

Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo emphasised the importance of these appointments, stating that the focus is to ensure clear communication about government plans and their progress.
