Body of missing female Nakuru Prison warder found

The body of Nakuru Womens Prison warder Carol Chepchirchir was on Wednesday found dumped in Githioro village in Subukia.

Ms Chepchirchir who was reported missing on April 3 was found dead and dumped in a thicket with a number of injuries on her body.

According to reports, her body was positively identified by members of her family and moved to a mortuary in Nyahururu.

Nakuru Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss, David Wangai confirmed the report disclosing that Ms Chepchirchir had injuries on her head and chest.

One suspect arrested

The lead investigator conveyed that one suspect had also been arrested in connection to the assault and murder.

The arrested man, Nakuru GK Prison warder Joseph Kairu, was alleged to be the last person to be seen with the murdered woman on the day she went missing.

Mr Kairu was arraigned in court where detectives accused him of kidnapping Chepchirchir after a night out.

It was not immediately established why the suspect may have been motivated to kidnap and murder the woman.
