Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

In the month of February, the former footballer was rushed to Nairobi hospital by his children and was admitted at the High Dependency Unit after he suffered a stroke.

According to his sons, Kadenge had not talked for two days at the time.

The doctors say it is a stroke and he has not been able to talk for the past two days and we are really praying for his quick recovery,” said his son Oscar Kadenge.

He added that he believed Kadenge’s stroke could have been because of his daughter who had died in the United States.

He suffered another stroke in 2006.

Joe Kadenge is considered one of the best footballers Kenya has ever produced. During his time, he played for Maragoli United, AFC Leopards and Harambee Stars as an attacking midfielder.
