“We are investigating circumstances under which he (Malong) was picked up from the hotel. His brother reported to police and I can confirm he is not in any of our custodies,” Owoyesigyire said as quoted by the Daily Monitor.

Malong Junior grabbed national headlines in Kenya after he was featured in an investigative documentary by John Allan Namu as one of the beneficiaries of blood money.

He was said to be a relative of General Paul Malong, a former Chief of Staff of the South Sudanese army who has taken refuge in Kenya.

General Malong later appeared in an interview with Jeff Koinange, alongside Malong Junior, where they denied being relatives.

During the interview, he bragged that he was one of Africa’s youngest billionaires but declined to explain the source of his wealth.

“I got my wealth from my Lord Jesus Christ. My Lord Jesus Christ blessed me; I fly on private jets… I live in Presidential suites… I am blessed,” he told Koinange.
