A day after Jubilee Party Vice chairman David Murathe threatened to head to the Supreme Court, insisting that DP Ruto should retire in 2022 along with President Uhuru Kenyatta, reactions continue to pour in thick and fast from Jubilee party officials , DP Ruto's loyal allies led by Kipchumba Murkomen and Kenyans at large.
Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen took a jab at Murathe, alluding that the latter’s remarks amounted to using underhand means to stop the DP from contesting after realizing that it is impossible to convince voters.
Taking to Twitter, Murkomen wrote that “Since voters are impossible to convince and considering we can’t change the Constitution, we should go to Supreme Court to stop him by all means. Ama namna gani my fren?”
Dennis Itumbi added his voice to the raging debate sparked by Murathe’s remarks, amplifying Murathe’s remarks but insisting that come 2022, the DP will be on the ballot.

“Let Murathe Speak. It is all that he can do. DP @WilliamsRuto, God granting life will be on the ballot. The part of Civil Society known as Evil Society tried this same script in 2011/2012 and they lost. Let me help Murathe speak louder....here his remarks.” Itumbi wrote on Twitter.
With Ruto’s eyes focused on succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju expressed sympathy with anybody scheming about 2022, stating that it is too far away.
However, a section of Kenyans who added their voices to the conversation hinted that Murathe could be speaking for other individuals with his voice growing louder by the day.

When Murathe first declared that DP Ruto should retire in 2022, adding that there is no deal between the DP and Jubilee party, veteran politician Maina Kamanda was quick to defend him, stating that Murathe was simply expressing the view of many in Jubilee-a stand that shall be known in due course.
